Jakarta – PT Andalan Artha Primanusa (“Andalan”) has officially expanded its operations into the nickel sector as part of its business diversification strategy and efforts to strengthen its mining portfolio.
This expansion is marked by the award of a contract for the development and operation of a nickel mining project in East Halmahera, North Maluku, representing Andalan’s first step into mineral commodities beyond coal.
This move aligns with Indonesia’s growing role as a leading global nickel producer, as well as increasing demand for nickel, particularly in supporting energy transition and manufacturing supply chains.
Andalan views this expansion as a natural extension of its core capabilities in mining operations.
Andalan will execute the project using the same integrated system applied across its existing operations, covering planning, mobilization, execution, and performance evaluation.
“This expansion represents a strategic step to broaden our business portfolio while leveraging our core strengths in mining operations,” said Andalan’s management.
Beyond expanding business scope, the nickel initiative is expected to strengthen revenue streams and reduce dependency on a single commodity.
Andalan will continue to enhance its operational capabilities to support multi-commodity projects, in line with growing demand for end-to-end mining services.
